Ayew on his knees before Marseille fans

Ghana winger Andre Ayew has urged the Stade Velodrome fans to be calm and support them throughout their next game against Lille on Sunday.

The Marseille players including coach Jose Anigo have come under constant verbal attacks from their own supporters in home games and the Ghanaian wants the trend to change.

“Talking about reconciliation, it is a strong enough word. What is important is that we are giving the best of ourselves. Hopefully, they will be behind us against Lille, because it is a tough game, so we will really need that 12th man to push us,” Ayew told Le Phonceen.

Lille are third on the log and are already a sure bet for Europe next season whilst Marseille are struggling to get back into the top four.

The game will again be watched by incoming coach Marcelo Bielsa.
