The Emeritus Catholic Archbishop of Kumasi, Most Rev. Peter Akwasi Sarpong has lauded the author of “The Sun at Midnight” - an inspirational book, Rev. Fr. Derrick Eyram Senanu, a Catholic Priest of the Koforidua Diocese.

The Archbishop speaking at the launching ceremony of the book on Sunday at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra described the book as a simple book with superb content encouraging all and sundry to have copies.

He applauded the author for taking the initiative to support his Alma mater.

“The writer has decided to use proceeds of the book to support his Alma Mater, St. Peter’s Regional Seminary Pedu, and Cape Coast. In promoting this book therefore, you will be promoting the priesthood in Ghana. But this is not the main reason that I insist, brothers and sisters on your getting this book”

“My reason is that, reading this book and imbibing its spirit will profit you immensely whether you are a student or a teacher, a Catholic or non-Catholic, a priest or a layman, a Religious or a non-Religious, a believer or a non-believer, young or adult, a seminarian or a priest, a Bishop or a Mass server. The book will show you the rational for your existence and that you are important in the eyes of the Lord,” Archbishop Sarpong said.

Sharing some words of inspiration with the audience, the Archbishop made reference to the Character Joseph. He said Joseph spent days thinking of what he must have done to deserve all the hardships brought upon him by his brothers.

He described that situation as a classic example of a midnight moment that shot Joseph into fame.
