Catholic priest urges leaders to show humility

The Rev Fr Jacob Adomako Tardie, a Catholic priest at Juaso, has appealed to people in leadership positions to show humility and accept to lead modest lifestyles.

He said this was the way to carry the people along with them and sustain their loyalty and added “arrogance, bullying and disrespect would only alienate them from the people and a recipe for trouble.”

Rev Fr Tardie said this at a mass held at Fumesua in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality to give thanks to God for the Konongo-Mampong Vicar General, Rev Fr Dr. Owusu Sekyere’s 25 years in the priesthood.

“Glorify the Lord with me: together let us praise His name” was the theme chosen for the event and it brought together the clergy and the religious from across the country.

The Rev Fr Tardie spoke of the need for all to uphold the values of integrity, transparency and self-discipline and to remain steadfast in their faith and refuse to be part of anything that was evil and toxic to the health of society.
