Potters Village holds annual thanks-giving service

The Potters Village, a charitable organization which aims at empowering vulnerable women and children to ensure harmonious living in homes and communities, Sunday held its annual thanks-giving service at Dodowa.

Mrs. Regina Kotei, Chairperson of the Children’s Department of the Korle-Bu Community Chapel said Christmas is not all about merry-making.

“We are here with our Sunday School Children, to share the message of Christ,” she added.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, she stated that it is the Church’s policy to visit an orphanage during Christmas to put smiles on the faces of the vulnerable.

Mrs. Kotei, on behalf of the Church donated some food items and toiletries, as well as an undisclosed amount of money to the home.

Dr. (Mrs.) Jane Irina Adu, Founder of the Potters’ Village, thanked God for giving her the vision and strength to cater for the inmates of the orphanage.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, she revealed that no life has been lost ever since she started this initiative, and pointed out that the role to cater for the needy is a social responsibility, which contributes to national development.

Mrs. Adu expressed her gratitude to individuals and institutions that have supported the home in various ways throughout the year, and therefore appealed to benevolent individuals and organizations to come to their aid, especially with the project of moving into a new residence.
