Minister joins Muslims to pray for Mills

Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso, the Eastern Regional Minister, at the week-end joined Muslims at the Koforidua Central Mosque to pray for the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

It was part of activities to mark the first anniversary of the death of the late president in the region.

Ms Ntoso was accompanied by her Deputy, Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, and some members of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and executives of the regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) party.

She said the late president was a man of peace, who exhibited love and respect for the people of Ghana, adding that “all should endeavour to emulate his personality to ensure peace in the country.”

The regional minister urged them to unite for national development and to eschew the politics of division and insults.

“I appeal to you all to ensure that we show love to the nation by accepting the verdict of the Supreme Court for peace to be the winner,” she added.

Earlier in a welcome address, Alhaji Yusif Suleiman Andani, the Regional Chief Imam, entreated politicians to be watchful of their utterances against each other.

He also called on the Muslims to remain steadfast to the faith, especially during the Ramadan and to ensure that they lived in peace with their neigbours.
