Chief constructs church building

Nana Kwarfo Opare, Mawerehene of Aburi Atwiesim in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region has appealed to his colleague chiefs to help spread Christianity by putting up more church buildings.

Nana Kwarfo Opare said this at Marfukrom in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region when he conducted the press round to inspect a GHc50,000 church building constructed for the Presbyterian Church as his contribution towards the development of the area.

Nana Kwarfo Opare who is also the Director of JiLCon Company Limited, a construction company in Accra, said the building was to replace an old dilapidated one built almost 50 years ago, and which could no longer sustain church service whenever there was a rainfall.

Nana Kwarfo Opare appealed to the youth of the area to take bible studies very seriously to become God fearing people in future.

Mr. Samuel Ayeh- Paye, Member of Parliament for Ayensuano Constituency, and Mr. Mike Ofori Darko, District Chief Executive for Ayensuano, who jointly chaired the function commended Nana Kwarfo Opare for his generous gesture and called on others to emulate the chief.

The Reverend Ebenezer Abogye Larbi, District Minister of the Presbyterian Church and his Catchiest, Stephen Agyaakwah who received the keys of the church, were also full of praise for Nana Kwarfo Opare and called on the people to attend church so that its construction would not be in vain.
