Church appeals for support for triplet mother

The Suhum New Town District of the Apostolic Church-Ghana, has appealed for support for an 18-year-old girl who delivered triplets at the local Government Hospital.

The District Pastor in charge of the church, The Reverend Wilson Agbetsiafa, said Constance Akuyo, who delivered the triplets, two boys and a girl, needed urgent help to enable both mother and the babies to survive.

Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Suhum on Wednesday, Rev. Agbetsiafa said even though the church was doing everything possible to help the mother and her babies, much more needed to be done.

He said the father of the babies, 19-year-old Yao Ansah, is an apprentice wireless repairer, who could not support his wife and the babies.

According to Rev. Agbetsiafa, the girl is an orphan who lost both parents adding that currently the babies and their mother were being catered for by her 80-year-old grandmother.

He said at the moment, the mother and the babies were living in a partly collapsed building and surviving on charity.
