Churches are not money creating centres – Prophetess

Anum Apapam (E/R), Sept. 19, GNA – Prophetess Elizebath Quayeba Abredu of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Prayer Camp at Anum Apapam in the Eastern Region, has said some “men of God” preach prophecies and revelations so as to entire the congregation to donate money, in contravention of the doctrine of the Bible.

“Some pastors and leaders have turned their churches into money-creating centres instead of propagating the word of God”, the Prophetess remarked after a week-long fasting and prayer for the nation.

Prophetess Quayeba told the Ghana News Agency at Anum Apapam at the weekend that “Some pastors and leaders of religious organizations are struggling for material gains.”

She condemned the practice and stated that the get-rich-quick and material wealth grabbing attitude of some people, especially heads of churches, brought the name of Christianity into disrepute.

Prophetess Quayeba called on the people who had been appointed by the government to discharge their duties diligently without any blemish.

She condemned the practice of anonymous letter-writing, saying the syndrome was damaging the image of the church, institutions, officials and the State at large, and advised those engaged in that negative act to put a stop to it.
