Christians should provide Spiritual backing for Peaceful Election- Apostle

Religious Leadership Council of Ghana, a non-denominational organisation, has called on Christians to come together and provide spiritual backing for peaceful elections.

Briefing the media in Accra on Monday, Apostle Dr Matthew Antwi, President of the Organisation said religious leaders should serve as effective and powerful vehicle for peace and development.

The Religious Leadership Council, which was launched on October 12, seeks to ensure that leaders in the religious set up cease to stereotype each other based on their religious beliefs.

It will also mobilize religious leaders irrespective of their religious background to necessitate and facilitate the demand for quality education, skills and logistics to work for God and establish a system for peace building.

Dr Antwi said it is unfortunate that national circumstances have encouraged the need for readiness of religious communities to come together to provide an incentive for greater cooperation.

“We will promote the development of the inner qualities and external conditions needed for the creation of a more peaceful, just and sustainable society,” he added.
