Christ Apostolic launches manual for Women's Ministry

The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) at the weekend launched a manual to guide, enlighten and empower women in their daily activities.

The 138- page book, which is a five-year study guide that focus on womanhood, wifehood and motherhood also seeks to transform, shape and raise purposeful women for both the church's Women’s Ministry and the world at large.

Launching the manual at the Koforidua Central Chapel of the CACI, Apostle Joseph Sakyi, Christian Education Director, said the six chapter book was compiled to honour the three founding mothers’ of the Women’s Ministry of the CACI.

“The women, Madam Kate Adwoa Twumwaa, (1923-2013 A.D), Mrs Comfort Ayekor Dornor (1926-2011 A.D) and Mrs May Addei Ashie, (1920-1999) founded the Women’s Ministry of the CACI in Koforidua in 1964.

“Though our mothers are no more with us, the moral lessons, their education for Christians mothers and the roles of wives in marriage they thought from generation to generation is what this book is going to continue to contribute to our mothers, sisters, daughters and wives development,” he said.

Apostle Sakyi noted that the Executive Council of the CACI is highly interested in women’s achievements hence the initiative of the Department of the Christian Education of the church to broaden women’s knowledge through the manual production.

He said the book would be used by the Women’s Ministry group in the church at various assemblies during their meetings.

Apostle Sakyi named the Woman’s body, Woman and her Family, Human Temperament, Growth and Development, Business and Career, importance of Information Communication Technology among other topics as some of the lessons in the book and urged readers to put the lessons acquired into practical use.

Nana Baffour Nyantakyi Boateng, Krontihene of the New Juabeng Traditional Area, speaking on the theme: “Empowerment of Women in the Church” said the theme was timely especially when the book seeks to empower more women to know their calling in the house of God.

He condemned the actions of some men in churches that hinder women from contributing to the development of their missions.

“Half of the women in our various churches are not doing what God has called them to do, but am glad CACI has thought about our mothers, sisters, daughter and wives and giving them the push to contribute to the church progress,” he said.

Nana Nyantakyi Boateng advised all to understand the role of women outlined in the bible, in order to glorify God.

He asked women to empower themselves to gain their liberty, worth and honour to glorify God.

Mrs Georgina Obeng, Circuit Women's Ministry Leader advised women to let the lessons acquired from the book promote “their role as women of Zion”.

“I pray that it will open a chapter for a new beginning, where the women of this Ministry will imitate the zeal and courage that was demonstrated by our mothers,” she said.

Dr Kwaku Owusu Acheampong, New Juabeng Municipal Chief Executive, appealed to women to read extensively to expand their knowledge and also help them in their Christian race.

Apostle Percy Konotey, Eastern “A” Territorial Apostle, CACI, lauded the founding women for their efforts that had given birth to a strong auxiliary group which is the Women’s Ministry of the church.

He led the congregation to pray for the church, executives, the country and for the manual to enhance work for the church.

The CACI is the oldest Pentecostal Church in Ghana, established in 1970.
