Ensure smooth take-off of Health Insurance Scheme - DCE

Bole, May 31, GNA - Board of Directors of the Bole District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme has been charged to put aside parochial interests and work assiduously towards the successful take-off of the scheme in the district.

Alhaji Sulemana Adams Achanso, the Acting DCE made the call at the inauguration of a nine-member board of directors who would ensure the smooth implementation of the scheme, at Bole.

The DCE announced that that all the necessary structures had been put in place for the scheme to take off in the district by July, this year, adding that a public educational campaign had been initiated to sensitise the people to understand and accept the programme.

He said collection of premiums from the various communities in the district was ongoing and that the District Assembly was doing everything to ensure an improved data collection.

Earlier in his report, Mr. Felix Saaka, Manager of the scheme said the programme had registered 905 members with a premium of 14.3 million cedis out of which 755 made part payment of 3.5 million as against 150 who made full payment of a premium of 10.8 million.

He assured all registered members from both the formal and informal sectors who had made full payment of their premiums to exercise patience, as they would soon enjoy the benefits of the scheme.
