Tamale Municipal Assembly spends 4.5 billion cedis on educational

projects

Tamale, Oct 13, GNA- The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly has spent 4.5 billion cedis this year, on the construction of school blocks in a number of communities.

Mr. Iddrisu Addul- Karim, an Assistant Director at the Metropolitan Assembly said this at the launch of the Presbyterian Church Education Week in Tamale.

He asked the people to embrace the Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, which would provide them with affordable health care. Mr. Abako Emmanuel Amoli, the Northern Regional Manager of the Presbyterian Schools said the Church had established, six kindergartens, 15 primary schools, five Junior Secondary Schools and one Senior Secondary School in the Metropolis.

In the East Gonja District the Church had built six day nurseries, 25 primary schools and seven Junior Secondary Schools.

Mr. Amoli said eight day nurseries; eight primary schools and three Junior Secondary Schools have been provided for the West Gonja District, while at Yendi and Tolon/ Kumbungu Districts the Church had constructed one day nursery and two primary schools each.

Mr Amoli appealed to all stakeholders in education to assist the Church in its mission to evangelise and provide education to the people.
