Space 87.7 FM Director Honored By Students

Mr.Ransford Antwi, Director and general Manager of a Sunyani-based Radio Station, Space 87.7 Fm, was over the weekend given a Special Award by the University Of Cape Coast Branch of Brong Ahafo Students Union. The occasion was the Annual BASU Dinner and awards Night was held at the University of Cape Coast campus, where eminent personalities from the Brong Ahafo Region were invited.

A citation accompanying Mr.Antwi?s award, commended him for his selflessness, vision and being a symbol of hope for the youth of Brong Ahafo.He was also cited as being one of the emerging Ghanaian youth endowed with the vision to turn things around for the Brong Ahafo Region and Ghana as a whole.

Among the personalities who graced the occasion included the Minister for Local government and Rural Development, Hon. Kwadwo Adjei Darko, Nana Owusu Nsiah, the IGP, Nana Obiri Boahen, a Sunyani-based Private Legal Practitioner, MCE of Sunyani, Hon Baffour Awuah, lecturers, among others.

On the otherhand, majority of the Brong Ahafo MPs invited did not honour the invitation, a situation which compelled Nana Obiri Boahen to launch attack on them, claiming that if it had Political Party programme, they would have been there in their in their numbers.

In accepting his award, Mr. Ransford Antwi thanked the students for the honour done him and promised to continue to offer hope and encouragement to the youth. He also urged them not to give up no matter the circumstances, but continue to work hard to reach the top.

An endowment fund to build Hostel to ease the accommodation problems of BASU members at UCC was also launched at the event. The President of the Association urged all old students of the Union both in Ghana and abroad to endeavour to contribute to the fund.
