DCE in NDC Regime Defects To NPP

A former Berekum District Chief Executive (DCE) in the NDC regime, Mr. I. B. Kwabena Kyere, has described the NDC as a party whose members abhor transparency and accountability.

Mr. Kyere who has defected to the NPP, said because he wanted to ensure transparency in his administration at the Berekum District Assembly, he faced stiff opposition from the party faithful who branded him as a sympathizer of the NPP.

The former DCE made the pronouncement at an NPP fundraising at Odumasi in the Sunyani West Constituency on Sunday, which coincided with the inauguration of the party?s women win in the constituency. The function attracted some of the top hierarchy of the NPP such as first national vice chairman, the minister of local government and rural development, the Brong Ahafo regional minister and the Sunyani municipal chief executive.

Mr. Kyere commended the Kufuor administration for introducing a more refined brand of democracy and accountability, stressing the NPP government is not like the NDC that hated truth and transparency.

He urged Prof. Evans Atta Mills not to disturb the ears of Ghanaians with the claim that members of the NDC had learnt the mistakes committed when they were in power and that, they had vowed to make amends. Mr. Adjei-Darko enjoined Ghanaians to reject politicians who made derogatory remarks on political platforms since such bad comments had the potential of undermining the prevailing peace and stability in the country. He advised NPP supporters to disregard the unguarded statements, accusations and falsehood some NDC members had been peddling against them and their party because they know that they have lost the general elections in advance and just want to create chaos.

The Brong Ahafo Region Minister, Nana Kwadwo Seinti, emphasized that the NPP would never be discriminatory in the distribution of development projects on political lines.

Mr. Ntim, the first national vice-chairman of the party, dismissed the NDC claims that the NPP intended to rig the forthcoming general election. We will not rig the polls because that negative practice has never been associated with the NPP, he added.
