Passion for the Needy donates to needy institutions

Passion for the Needy, a charitable organization for Prophet TB Joshua, has donated three sewing machines to students of the tailoring department of the Accra Rehabilitation Centre and one for the Centre.

The items are to equip the students to be productive in future, by using the machines during their period of study at the centre and after completion of their learning.

Mrs Janet Torgbor El-Aschkar, Chairperson of Passion for the Needy, presenting the items, said the initiative would allow for continuation and help reduce unemployment in the country

She said their outfit hoped to pilot the project in specific institutions and later replicate it in the rest of the institutions.

The organization presented bags of rice, and cooking oil, among other items, to the five institutions valued at Ghc 6,567, as part of its love to mankind and society.

The beneficiary institutions were the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Society for the Socially Disadvantaged at Kaneshie, New Life Orphanage at Nungua, Christian Home Orphanage and Canal Academy, a day care centre for the underprivileged at Teshie.

The organisation organized a Christmas party for the institutions to put smiles on the faces of the children.

She intimated that the organisation, since its establishment, had assisted inmates at the Nsawam Prisons, patients who could not pay for their hospital bills at the Korle-bu Teaching and Ridge Hospitals, and provided educational sponsorship packages for the needy.

Mrs El-Aschkar appealed to well-meaning Ghanaians to stretch out their hands to the less privileged in society.

Mr Steve Bongo, Head of the Tailoring Department of the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, thanked management of the organization for the gesture, and pledged to make good use of the items.
