CWSA orders the demolition of illegal structure

The Board of Directors of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency has ordered the demolition of an illegal structure that is delaying the construction of a pump house for potable water supply at Esiama in the Western Region.

Mr. Clement Bugase, the Chief Executive Officer of the CWSA and the Board Chairman, Nana Ababio II, entreated the DCE to solicit security assistance in getting the illegal developer off the project.

The Esiama Small Town Water Supply Project, with a 10-year lifespan, would cater for an estimated population 14,000.

Mr. Daniel Eshun, District Chief Executive of the Ellembelle District, who led the Board to the site of the project, said several attempts to get the developer off the area had proved futile.

Mr. Bugase said the interest of one individual should not override such a valuable project and entreated the assembly to ensure that the project was completed on time.

Sources told the GNA that the illegal developer was a staff of the National Health Insurance Scheme at Akontombra.

Messrs Blessed Field Limited is executing the project, which comprise of an aqualite treatment plant, three pump houses, 17 stand pipes, a high level tank, pipes, five household connections and operating office for the management team.
