Ga South parents slam school feeding programme

Parents and guardians in Ga South Municipality of Greater Accra Region, have called on the government to help improve the quality of food their wards are served as part of the school feeding programme.

During a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting at Odumprala M/A Basic School within Kofi Kwei Circuit of the municipality, Madam Adzoavi Afagbedzi, a parent, expressed worry about the quantity and quality of food given their children.

“They pour plenty red oil and water on the food, compelling the kids to vomit when they come home,” she said.

Mr Pascal Kokoroko, Chairman of the PTA, backed the parent’s sentiment but advised them not to shirk their responsibility for providing them their basic necessities of life.

Mr Alidu Sulley, Headmaster of the school, advised parents and guardians to support the school in providing quality education to children who are the nation’s future leaders.

He said: “the task of providing good quality education is a shared responsibility, of which the parent’s role is key.”
