A child without education is a liability - Educationist

Mr Stephen Kofi Mensah, Proprietor of Sound Brain International School at Teacher Mante, has noted that a child without education is a liability to him or herself, family and the society.

He therefore urged parents to send their wards to school rather than engaging them in child labour and other street ventures which could destroy their future.

Mr Mensah gave the advice at the 3rd anniversary celebration of the School at Teacher Mante in the Eastern Region.

The school, which was founded in February 2011 with six pupils and one teacher, now has 100 students and seven teachers.

Mr Mensah said the denial of education of a boy-child makes him become deviant and anti-social while the girl-child engages in prostitution and cheap labour.

If parents want poverty to leave their homes then the only sure way is to send their children to school tobe trained to become prominent and useful of themselves, their family and the society, he said.

Mr John Tei Owusu, who chaired the function appealed to government to come to the aid of private schools with additional buildings, places of convenience, urinals, supply of books and furniture.

He urged parents to pay their children's school fees in time for the smooth and effective administration of the schools.
