"He said the hospital advised the relatives and the taxi driver who transported the patient to Bawku through the Pusiga border, to put the body in plastic bags as a precautionary measure against possible infection from any disease".
The hospital authorities should be held responsible should there be any outbreak. You have a death suspected to be from ebola, yet you happily release the body to the relatives.
Dr Manu please check your staff and the way you people have chosen to speak to the media thereby muddying the waters.
if you a situation at hand why dont you call and ask for help rather than rely on your rudimentary knowledge and putting all of us in danger.

I thought even the president had assured the world that Ghana was ready to handle Ebola outbreak. Even in the 1970's when there was a cholera outbreak, deceased suspects were not released to the families for burial. Burial was done by personnel of the health ministry. During the original outbreak in Zaire, people were educated not to touch any suspect, dead or alive but to contact the authorities for pick up. How on earth do we release bodies of suspected Ebola victims to relatives for burial? How do we allow such a body to be transported in a taxi form Bawku across the border to Burkina Faso? Do we really understand the epidemiology of Ebola? We are joking with fire!

Your write ups do nothing but whip up negative sentiments for other nationals. Please let us tackle the disease and leave Ghanaian nurse, Burkinabe patient and the like in peace. Do not copy some of the foreign press who are already racist in outlook

How did an Ebola suspect manage to go through the border and from Burkina Faso to Bawku. We have been told time and agaian that the borders are secure and we are ready to isolate Ebola suspects. I pray that this may not be Ebola else many people have already exposed. And they are going to expose countless others. Yes, Ghana is ready to handle Ebola!
