Nkoranza MCE urges staff to work hard

Madam Stella Amoatemaa, Nkoranza Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has urged workers of the Municipal Assembly to be committed to their work for the accelerated development of the Municipality.

She cautioned the workers to avoid playing politics with their work because that could have adverse effects on the development of the area.

Madam Amoatemaa gave the advice at a worker’s durbar of the Assembly on Wednesday at Nkoranza in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

It was aimed at discussing plans and programmes that would bring development to the municipality.

The MCE expressed concern about political party affiliations, which undermines the authority of the Assembly, adding that, it was wrong and a disservice to the nation because “Governments would come and go, but Ghana as a country would forever exist forever”

Madam Amoatemaa appealed to the workers to intensify their efforts and contribute to building a prosperous and stable economy that would benefit the present and future generations.

Alhaji Ahmed Rufai Ibrahim, Municipal Coordinating Director, cautioned the workers on absenteeism, lateness and apathy and advised Heads of Departments to ensure discipline among their staff to promote and maintain sanity.

He asked them to prepare Action Plans for the Management of the Assembly to study and devise strategies to address their challenges for a better performance.

Mr. Kasim Ashadu, Municipal Finance Officer, expressed worry about the low revenue generation of the Assembly and urged the revenue collectors to work hard.

Mr. Ashadu pleaded with Assembly and Unit Committee members to educate their people to honour their tax obligations to enable the Assembly to generate enough revenue to embark on more development projects in the communities.

He announced that the Assembly would provide uniforms, rain-coats and Identification Cards (IDs) for all the Revenue Collectors to enhance their work.
