Nkoranza North District Education Directorate commend teachers

Mr. James Appiah-Kusi, Nkoranza North District Director of Education, has commended staff of the Education Directorate, for their team spirit and hard work.

He pointed out that the unity of the staff in support of the Directorate, had made it chalk a number of successes, and advised that young teachers must pursue their education to higher levels, to become more professionally competent and efficient.

Mr. Appiah-Kusi made the commendation at a staff get-together at Busunya, in appreciation to God for a successful academic year.

He urged parents to co-operate with teachers to maintain high standards of education in the district; adding that the results of the District's Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) since his assumption of office in 2010, has shown remarkable improvement.

Mr. Appiah-Kusi compared statistics of the District’s BECE results, saying that the district chalked 59 per cent in 2010, 85 per cent in 2011 and 84 percent in 2012.

He said the academic performance of the District was not only bettered by 98.61 percent in 2013, but earned it the enviable top position of the academic ladder in the 2013 BECE results nation-wide.

The District Education Director, however, urged teachers and pupils in the district not to be complacent, but work harder to attain more academic successes.
