Camps and retreats are major vehicles for capacity building - Apostle Hagan

Apostle Komla Ebenezer Hagan of the Great Commission Church International has said camps and retreats are the major vehicles through which a church's ministry can train and equip its youths to carry through their vision.

Apostle Hagan, who is Director of Ministries, said this on Saturday when he delivered his report to the annual General Council Meeting of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) at Amrahia near Dodowa in the Great Accra Region.

He said in order to build the capacity of the Junior Youth (JY) of the Church, three retreats are held annually by the Church for them and in 2012 the retreats occurred in the months of January, July and September.

He said the retreat attracted both national level leaders and local assembly leaders saying the retreats created an opportunity to teach scripture, pray and plan for the ministry, which has helped strengthen leadership positions at the local level.

Apostle Hagan said Apostle J.F.K Mensah, Prophet Boakye-Yiadom, Dr Samuel Tengey amongst others were guest speakers who ministered to the young people on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the person of the Holy Spirit, Holiness and on ‘being the best you can ever be’.

He said this year, the JY of the Church intends to continue to encourage JY participation in Church activities at both local and national levels to enable them perform their role effectively and described the camps and retreats as huge successes.

He said as part of the capacity building of the Church, the National Executives of the JY will be visiting local assemblies to strengthen the thriving ministry.
