Court adjourns case between collapsed Melcom owner and AMA

The Human Rights Court has adjourned to Friday, the case between the owner of the collapsed Melcom building and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

The property owner, Nana Boadu Nkansah Ayeboafo has been in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) since he turned himself in to assist in investigations following the disaster, which killed at least 14 people and injured scores of others who got trapped under the rubble.

Ayeboafo Nkansah’s lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea is seeking bail for his client at the court.

Speaking to XYZ News after the adjournment he stated that he is confident that his client will secure a bail on Friday.

Mr. Atta Akyea also slammed the BNI and described as improper the decision by the security agency to prevent his client from showing up in court.
