Passion for Needy assists the needy at Pra Ewusi

Passion for Needy, a charitable organisation belonging to the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN) has presented food and household items worth GH¢2,800 to the needy at Pra Ewusi, a village in the Central Region.

The items presented as part of the 49th birthday celebrations of Prophet Joshua, the founder of the church, included 20 bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, tomato paste, sardines, canned beef, washing soap, soft drinks and sandals.

In statement issued and copied to Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday, Mrs Janet Torgbor-El Aschker, Chairperson of Passion for Needy, said the donation was in line with the directive by Prophet Joshua that his birthday celebration should be used to support the needy in society.

Mrs Torgbor- El Aschker said the NGO had acquired another 14-acre farmland in the village for farming.

“We intend to start with other projects in this town such as gari processing and fish farming for the inhabitants”.

Nana Ofori Okoh, Chief of Pra Ewusi, presented a 50-acre land to the NGO to construct a Youth Centre and a recreational centre for the aged.

The youth centre would provide technical and vocational training for the youth in and around Central Region.

Nana Okoh expressed appreciation to the NGO for the gesture and called for a sustained relationship between them.**
