Teteman commends President Mills for fulfilling campaign promise

The chiefs and people of Teteman in the Jasikan District of Volta Region, on Friday praised President John Evans Atta Mills for fulfilling a campaign promise to tar roads in the Township.

Nana Oware Owusu VI, chief of Teteman and Kyidomhene of Buem Traditional Area, made the commendation when Mr. Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister, inspected the project as part of his tour of the area.

He said, “This is unbelievable. Vehicles can now come up here, and our sick relatives can get to the hospital on time,” and added that the tarring of the roads has given Teteman a major facelift.

Nana Owusu also lauded Government for planning to distribute cocoa seedlings to farmers free of charge, saying, such interventions had increased cocoa production in the area.

“Today, we are truly a happy people. We learnt that our farmers are due for free cocoa seedlings next week, all we can say is thank you, President Mills,” Nana Owusu said.

Mr. Kamel said he was happy that the community has appreciated Government’s development efforts, and appealed to the people to support the Government to initiate more projects in the area.

The 2.5 kilometer -road project was executed by the Mobile Maintenance Unit of the Ghana Highway Authority.**
