Two accident victims identified by Nsawam police

Two persons, who perished in two different accidents at Nsawam have been identified by the Nsawam Police as Samuel Ahadzi, a 58 year old teacher of Nsawam and 23 year old Francis Eklu Danso.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nsawam on Friday, DSP Samuel Ntosoh, Police Commander in charge of Nsawam Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), said Samuel was killed by a 207 passenger bus travelling from New Ningo to Kwasi Nyarko near Adeiso in the Eastern Region about 11:30 hours.

DSP Ntosoh said the driver of the vehicle, one Jonathan Tettey lost control and veered into the other lane to avoid running into the vehicles ahead of him, but in the process knocked the victim.

The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nsawam Government Hospital.

DSP Ntosoh said the driver had been placed under police enquiry bail whiles investigations continue, whilst the body of the deceased had been sent for post mortem.

In the case of Francis Eklu Danso, he was found under an articulator truck, when the brakes of the vehicle failed on the Suhum–Nsawam road, apparently run over by the vehicle.

He said the driver in an attempt to avoid running into other cars ahead of him controlled the vehicle into a nearby bush and managed to stop the vehicle.

When he came out of the vehicle to inspect it he found to his surprise, Eklu, dead and holding a cutlass.
