Save Augusco Charity assists alma mater

Accra, March 31, GNA - Save Augusco Charity (SAC), a UK based charity set up with the primary objective of mobilising funds for identified projects at St Augustine's College has presented sports kit to the school.

The charity, which was established in 2007, seeks to help St Augustine's College in diverse ways to maintain high academic, moral and sporting excellence.

=A0 The package comprised 10 Karrimor Running Shorts, seven Karrimor Vests, four Karrimor T shirts, 12 Umbro Pro Football Socks, 12 Sondico Amour Anklets and four Sondico Sonic Goalkeepers Gloves.

The rest are eight Addidas Jubulani World Cup 2010 Glider Footballs, three Sondico Captain's Armbands, 12 Umbro Vortex ii SG Football boots, four Nike Basketballs and 10 Puma Running Spikes. =A0 Making the presentation on behalf of SAC, Mr David Saltson said the group had plans to do a lot more for the school. "I have the blessing of the SAC Chairman, Mr Robert Wood and my colleagues to hint that we will be shortly be announcing a package towards refurbishing some parts of the school."

He noted that identifying and financing projects would always be done on needs assessment basis and in consultation with the School Authorities and Board of Governors.

Mr Joseph Connel, Headmaster of the College commended SAC for the kind gesture and used the occasion to appeal to other groups and individuals, particularly the old boys to support their alma mater in whichever way they can.

The current Trustees of the charity are as Kobby Wood (76 year group), Robert Wood (81 year group), Tony Atayi (82 year group), David Saltson (83 year group), Ato Ghunney (85 year group) and Godfred Ashiagbor (86 year group).
