Sunyani Assemblyman outlines achievements

Sunyani (B/A), July 20, GNA – Mr. Senyo Agbedra, Assembly Member for Baakoniaba in Sunyani Municipality, has outlined a number of development projects as his achievements to help to improve living standards.

Mr. Agbedra told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Baakoniaba that since his election in 2006 he had supervised the construction and completion of South Ridge Model School, a six-unit classroom block for Ridge Experimental School and rehabilitation of Ridge Junior High School (JHS).

Through his initiative, he said, arrangements were far advanced for the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to provide three public stand-pipes in the community and pipelines in the area.

Mr Agbedra said under his tenure the area had received two bore-holes and with the assistance of the Municipal Assembly, electricity had been provided and this had helped to ward-off criminal activities in the area.

On sanitation, the Assembly Member said the Assembly would soon provide the area with four refuse containers estimated at GH¢12,000 and had also agreed to make available a 20-seater toilet estimated at GH¢35,000 for the people.

He said his outfit was collaborating with the Rotary Club of Nanaimo, a Canadian NGO, to assist women’s group at Gyato Nkwanta in his electoral area under the Micro-Credit Scheme for their farming businesses.

Mr Agbedra, a professional Bio-Statistics Officer at the Regional Hospital, said he would continue to use his rich experience as Assembly Member to unite the people towards the achievement of Government’s Better Ghana agenda.
