Southeastern Montessori Academy holds graduation

Mrs Rosina Adorbor, Kpone-Katamanso District Director of Education, has called on students to draw closer to God, and study diligently, in order to achieve academic success, instead of resorting to foul means to pass examinations.

She said there was no human endeavour to achieve success without assistance from God

Mrs Adorbor made the call in an address read for her at the Eighth Graduation, Speech and Prize-Giving Day of Southeastern Montessori Academy at New Saasabi, near Oyibi in the Kpone-Katamanso District of the Greater Accra Region.

It was on the theme: “: Stakeholders Role in Curbing Examination Malpractice in Ghana””.

She urged the students to be law-abiding, respect authority, and desist from all forms of negative tendencies that may ruin their career.

Mrs Adorbor urged teachers to do away with absenteeism, alcoholism and drug-abuse, which she said, were some of the factors that contributed to falling standards of education.

Madam Amina Omar, Proprietress of the School, said its focus was on holistic and quality education, which begins from the kindergarten level.

”If the children are given moral training from the foundation, there is no way one could cheat in examination””, she said, adding that the brain needed to be developed at the tender age.

Madam Omar said the school would continue to offer moral education, which had been one of the aims of the school.

She appealed to Non-Governmental Organizations to assist the school to enable it execute its projects.

Mr Anthony Kuadey, an educationist, who chaired the function, urged the government to institute measures to curb examination malpractices.

He appealed to parents to take active interest in the education of their wards, so that they would grow up to become useful citizens.
