Presidential aspirants urged to concentrate on development

Essikado (W/R), Oct 31, GNA - Nana Kobina Nketia V, Omanhene of Essikado Traditional Area, has appealed to presidential aspirants of political parties to dwell on development issues in their campaigns. He said this when Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, a presidential aspirant of the Convention People's Party (CPP), called on him at his palace at Essikado on Tuesday.

Nana Nketia said presidential aspirants should come out with ideas on how to solve electricity and water problems facing the country. He said they should put forward proposals that would develop the nation instead of discussing trivial matters.

Nana Nketia said those who occupy positions of trust should not seek personal gain but should selflessly serve the country to make it self-reliant.

Dr Nduom, who was on a tour of the Western Region, had paid a courtesy call on Nana Agyobia Kpanyinli, Ebusuapanyin of the Nkrumah family at Nkroful.

He said the party would build a presidential library to exhibit the works and other items of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah when it wins the 2008 elections.
