Pedestrian killed by Metro Bus in Cape Coast

Master Abraham Okoh, a 17-year old student of the Oguaa Secondary Technical School in Cape Coast was on Tuesday knocked and killed by a Metro Mass Transit Bus at Green Hill, near Ekon, a suburb of Cape Coast.

The bus which was driven by Korsah Richard had almost reached Cape Coast from Accra when in an effort to swerve another car, run into Master Okoh who was walking along the street.

The Deputy Central Regional Motor Traffic and Transit Unit (MTTU) Commander, ASP Bernard Amidu Norgah told the GNA that the boy was sent to the Central Regional Hospital where doctors worked desperately to save his life to no avail.

Korsah has been granted police enquiry bail and is assisting the police in its investigations.

In a related development, two young men George Eshun and Dominic Opoku, both 21 years also met their untimely death on Thursday when the motor bike they were riding hit the ground after Opoku lost control.

Police said the motor bike they were riding was unregistered and they were riding from Adisadel towards Pedu junction in Cape Coast.

ASP Norgah told the GNA that the two were not wearing safety crash helmet and they sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Central Regional Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.

He said the bodies have since been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.**
