‘Leaders must leave positive legacy for generations’

Reverend Professor Eric Anum, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, has admonished individuals appointed into leadership positions to leave a positive legacy for posterity.

He said leadership is a calling therefore those appointed to such positions should not lord it over their subordinates, but rather serve in humility, fairness, transparency and accountable to humanity and God.

Rev. Prof. Anum gave the advice in a sermon at the Induction Service and Fourth Quarter Religious Parade at the Sekondi Naval Base. It was held in honour of Commodore Peter Kofi Faidoo, the newly appointed Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command.

Preaching on the theme: “A Chosen Vessel of God Called to Serve,” Rev. Prof. Anum said God did not only create man to be faithful and fruitful in all his endeavours but to seek God’s guidance and direction at all times.

He entreated Ghanaians to let the values and virtues hidden in them yield positive fruits that would be remembered by generations yet unborn.

“You should do something distinctive that will change perceptions of those abroad,” he stressed.
