Kumasi Rotary Club donates to Children's Home

Kumasi, Jan 31, GNA - The Rotary Club of Kumasi on Saturday donated items worth two million cedis and a cheque for two million cedis to the Kumasi Children's Home.

The items included 110 tins of milk, a bag of rice, three crates of Coca-cola and three crates of eggs.

Making the presentation, Nana Kwame Owusu, President of the Club, stressed the need for the media to be circumspect in their reportage to ensure peaceful elections.

He noted that the country's infant democracy could only be sustained by avoiding pronouncements and acts that could lead to confusion and mar the elections.

Nana Owusu cautioned the media against partisanship, pointing out, "the crisis that have bedevilled our neighbours should serve as a lesson to us all".

He said that the club would embark on an intensive polio eradication campaign this year.

Miss Mabel Boamah, Assistant Supervisor of the Home, thanked the club for the gesture and gave the assurance that the items would be used for the purpose they were given.
