It is not right for pastors to request for money before consultation - Bishop

Accra, Sept. 5, GNA – The Presiding Bishop and Rector of Bishop Harrison’s Over-comers Bible Institute has said pastors and the clergymen in Christiadom who use fraudulent means to amass wealth bring the wrath of God upon themselves.

Bishop Dr Benjamin Arko Harrison said it was not right for Christians to pay sums of monies before consulting a man of God.

He made the statement in a welcoming address during the sixth graduation ceremony of the institute at Achimota in Accra. The theme for the occasion was: “Walk the Walk.”

Bishop Dr Harrison said joy and happiness was not in money and fame and therefore, admonished the clergy to strive to live above reproach.

He said, “Church members are not slaves to be exploited” and condemned the act.

He also bemoaned the act of sexual immorality in the churches, which he said was a hindrance to the propagation the gospel of Jesus Christ in the modern day.

Bishop Harrison’s Over-comers Bible Institute was established in 2004 with 50 students and within its seven years of existence about 2,000 students have gone through various Bible-based training and plan to inaugurate its University College by the year 2013.
