I won't lobby Mahama for a job - Spio-Garbrah

A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential aspirant Ekwow Spio Garbrah says he does not intend lobbying President Mahama for an appointment in his administration but would rather allow the President to invite him if he so wishes.

The former CEO of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization described President Mahama as an old friend and told Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana Programme that his political pedigree is very well known to the President and so he needn’t go lobbying for a job.

Dr. Spio Garbrah who is currently the CEO of Action Chapel International and President of the Church’s Dominion University College says he will leave President Mahama alone to form his own cabinet.

“John Mahama and I have been friends for many years, we worked in the same ministry and if he chooses to invite me to join him am sure he would let me know,” Dr. Spio Garbrah said.

The former Minister of Communications, Minister of Education as well as Minister of Mines and Energy in the Rawlings administration added that “President Mahama knows me very well so I am not going to tell him anything… President Rawlings knew me very well and President Mills knew me well so I think it is only fair to leave him alone to decide on what he wants to do”.
