Hammah expresses gratitude for successful Aboakyer festical

Mr. Mike Hammah, the Member of Parliament for Effutu, on Friday expressed his gratitude to the chiefs and people of Effutu for organising a successful Aboakyer festival and said the celebration would go down as one of the most successful.

He said in a statement that, the people of Effutu demonstrated to the whole world that they were driven by unity of purpose, love for community and peace for development.

“I wish to use this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the organisers of the programme, the traditional authorities including the chiefs and elders, religious leaders, youth groups, security agencies and all who played diverse and significant roles in sustaining peace, unity and security throughout the period of the festival,” Mr. Hammah said.

He appealed to his constituents to continue to sustain the peace, unity and love towards one another as the nation eases gradually into the campaign season and approaches the December election.

“Just as we were able to celebrate this year’s festival as one people, it is my hope that we will go through these political activities as one people with a common destiny,” Mr. Hammah said

He appealed to the people to refrain from political violence and to be tolerant of dissenting views, adding that for a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other.**
