GJA elects executives

Tema, March 15, GNA - The Tema branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) have re-elected three of its executive members to serve another three-year term.

They are Ms Kate Baaba Hudson of the Graphic Group of Companies, chairperson, with Mr Ian Kombla Motey of the Ghanaian Times, as the Vice and Ms Felicia Yeboah of the Ghana News Agency as the treasurer. Other members are Mr Richard Attenka of the Chronicle, secretary, Mr Moses Dautey of the Adom FM, organizing secretary, while Mrs Felicia McEwan Anamoah of the Uniique FM of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and Mr Fred Oppong Botwe, of the Local Footprints news paper were appointed as executive members.

In an acceptance speech, Ms Hudson urged journalists operating in industrial port city to be circumspect in their reportage to project the correct image of the port to make Tema the preferred hub.

She reminded them of their crucial role in the government's move in making Ghana the maritime gateway to the West African Sub-region and should not let this slip by.

In order to achieve the objective of informing the public however, Ms Hudson entreated the press corps to work together in unity to remove the barrier between the private and state media. This would go a long way to promote democracy, good governance and development so that journalists would enjoy their rightful position, as the fourth estate of the realm.
