Don’t allow politics to divide you - DCE

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante-Akim South, Mr De-graft Fokuo, has asked Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be torn apart by partisan politics.

There should be absolutely no reason for them to show animosity towards each other since the ultimate goal of political parties is to bring improvement to the lives of the people.

Mr Fokuo was speaking at the official inauguration of the “Beautiful Fun Club”, a social club, at Breku near Nadieso.

The DCE described as unacceptable, the insults, vilification and name-calling that are creeping into the country’s political culture and said this must end.

He urged his colleague politicians to conduct themselves with dignity, avoid peddling lies about their opponents and mischief.

Mr Fokuo entreated the Youth to be wary of politicians bent on creating confusion in the upcoming December general polls and refuse to do their bidding.

He appealed to members of the club to remain non-partisan and stay away from chieftaincy disputes.

Mr Yussif Karim, Chairman of the Club, said their aim is to among other things mobilize the Youth to engage in productive ventures.

Nana Annor Yeboah Kwansem II, Chief of Breku, welcomed the club and said he was confident it would assist in the development of the community.
