DIPAC expresses concern about removal of party posters

New Edubiase (Ash), Nov. 30, GNA - The Adansi South District Inter-Party Advisory Committee (DIPASC) has expressed concern about the rate at which posters of political parties in the Constituency were being destroyed.

The DIPAC said not even posters of the Electoral Commission (EC) on the elections were spared the destruction.

The concern was expressed at a DIPAC meeting at New Edubiase at the weekend to discuss the best way to ensure peaceful and incident-free elections.

Mr Emmanuel Addai, District Electoral Officer, said the behaviour of the people, who were destroying the posters, must be condemned and they must be stopped before it got out of hand. He appealed to the political parties to educate their members to stop the practice and attributed this state of affairs in the district to lack of education.

DIPAC urged the District National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Assembly to do something immediately about the situation to help maintain peace in the area.

Madam Sophia Afrakoma, CPP Parliamentary Candidate for New Edubiase, said she was sad at what she saw at the New Edubiase Zongo, where her posters were defaced while those of the NPP had been destroyed completely and called for immediate halt to that. 30 Nov. 04
