CLOGSAG calls for payment of premium without further delay

The Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo Regional branches of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), have joined their colleagues from the Northern, Upper East and West to call on Government for the payment of premium to them without further delay.

The members expressed frustration over the delayed negotiations for the payment and appealed to the Minister for Employment and Social Welfare to facilitate the conclusion on the payment of the premium to forestall any act that would disturb industrial harmony.

This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by Messrs Daniel Brobbey and Clifford Dramani Yakubu, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regional secretaries respectively, and Miss Mary Boakyewah Acheampong, Ashanti Regional Chairperson of the Association and read to the press in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Mr. Yakubu, presenting the statement said, “six months had gone under the bridge without any firm commitment to resolving the issue on the payment of the premium.”

The executive members who could not hide their feelings called on the national executive committee to convene a national executive meeting to consider an immediate sit down strike.**
