Assembly members in Sissala West receive motorbikes from MP

The Member of Parliament for the Sissala West District Hon. Patrick Alhassan Adama on Sunday 18 June 2017 donated 31 motorbikes, one each to assembly members in the district to enable them carry their responsibilities.

The 31 motorbikes come with a helmet, all required documents and have been insured for one year.

Member of Parliament Hon. Patrick Alhassan Adama during the presentation of the motorbike disclosed that the gesture is “my own money I used to buy and urge the Assembly members to handle them with care and use the bikes to help their communities by visiting them and listening to their concerns for the assembly to resolve them”.

He asked that “these motorbikes are not there just for show, they are for you to go into your communities, meet your community members, and find out what their problems are and let us work extremely hard to help our people he advised.

Meanwhile, two motorbikes were also presented to the Sissala West district directorate of the Ghana health service and GHC6,000 to cater for the accommodation of ten nurses in Gwollu.

The MP, however, the decried smuggling activities whereby governments subsidised fertilisers meant for farmers are disappearing into neighbouring countries.

He therefore emphasised that the assembly members in the district should take up that responsibility to monitor and make sure farmers serve the fertilisers.

Some of the assembly members expressed gratitude and assured to use the bikes to facilitate the development of their respective electoral areas and for that matter Sissala West district.
