Additional enumerators for Kotokrom

Kotokrom (B/A), Nov 1, GNA - Additional six enumerators have been added to the sole enumerator operating at Kotokrom in Sunyani Municipality to speed up the 2010 Population and Housing census enumeration in the town.

The increase in number of enumerators followed the outcry of residents over what they said was the "crawling movement" of the exercise in the area as only one enumerator was operating there.

Mr. Paul Kofi Adu, who was the sole enumerator, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Kotokrom that the additional "hands" would facilitate the process. By October 22, 2010, he had covered only 308 out of 915 structures in the town. Communities at Kotokrom include Bredi, Abinga Junction, Patron, Dwira, Agya Nkrumah, Asunkwaa and Cemetery.

Meanwhile, some residents GNA interviewed at Kotokrom expressed joy for the increase in number of enumerators since most of them entertained fear that they might not be covered if Mr. Adu who is also a teacher at the Kotokrom Municipal Assembly Junior High School (JHS) remained the sole enumerator.
