41,522 candidates writing BECE in Eastern Region

A total of 41,522 candidates will be writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Eastern Region.

The candidates are made up of 21,762 boys and 19,760 girls from 1,437 schools, comprising 1,020 public schools and 417 private schools.

The candidates would be using 154 examination centers in the region and would be supervised by 164 supervisors.

Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, urged the candidates to take the examination serious and give out their best in order to score high marks in all their papers, to achieve success.

She cautioned them not to indulge in examination malpractices, which could derail their chances of achieving their aims in life.

Ms Ama Frimpong was speaking when she and the Regional Education Director Ms Adriana Kandilige visited some examination centres.

The delegation visited Koforidua Secondary Technical School and Oti Boateng Senior High School examination centres in the New Juaben Municipality.

They also visited centres in Lower Manya Krobo and Asuogyaman Districts.
