Govt Imports 40 Vehicles For Political Parties & EC

The Minister of Information, Nana Akomea has announced that the Government has imported forty vehicles for the Electoral Commission (EC) and political parties for their campaigns leading up to the December 7 polls.

According to the minister, the vehicles were imported from China through the National Disaster and Management Organisation and the Electoral Commission has been given the mandate to distribute them to the various political parties in the country.

Nana Akomea, who disclosed this to Space FM in Sunyani, explained that five of the vehicles will go to the Electoral Commission, while each of the presidential candidates will be given two of the cars.

The remaining 27 vehicles will be distributed according to the strength of a party in parliament.

The Minister gave the assurance that the distribution of the vehicles should be completed latest by Friday.
