Ablakwa, Hlordze, Sam George have failed the youth – Abu

The youth in Government since 2009 have failed their fellow youth in the country, Youth Organiser of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Abu Ramadan has told Morning Starr host Kafui Dey on Monday, March 2, 2015.

“Today, if you talk of the opportunities that have been given to the youth of this country in terms of leadership of this country, the current regime from 2009 to this time, the youth in Government today have failed the youth of this country and don’t really inspire confidence in future leaders to hand over that sort of responsibility to the youth,” he asserted.

Mr Ramadan mentioned a few youthful Government appointees such as Deputy Minister in charge of tertiary education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, presidential staffer Sam George and the governing party’s former national youth organiser, Ludwig Hlordze, as some of those who have failed to live up to expectation.

In his estimation, the utterances of these appointees in Government have left a lot to desire for.

Mr Ramadan also said some of them have mired themselves in corruption, a situation which he said has dimmed the confidence that the leadership and flagbearers of political parties have in their youth.

They “don’t inspire confidence” he noted, adding that: “If you are a youth leader, who is always snobbish; who won’t even pick a phone call when he’s called, who will refuse to respond to text messages…how will the youth behind you or the youth supporting you be inspired by your conduct? So it’s about the way you carry yourself about.”
