There must be an “uprising” against gov’t now! – NPP MP

New Patriotic Party [NPP] Member of Parliament [MP] for Upper Denkyira West, Benjamin Kofi Ayeh believes Ghanaians have no option now than to demonstrate against what he describes as the “awful” governance by the Mahama-led administration.

According to him, there must be an “uprising” as a sign of discontent of National Democratic Congress [NDC’s] rule.

Frustrated Benjamin Ayeh, unhappy with the current state of affairs under the incumbent regime, however, called on Ghanaians to “rise-up” in revolt.

His call for an “uprising” was as a result of government’s failure to disburse the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and Common Fund to MP’s which have been in arrears since the last quarter of last year.

“We need the GETFund to support projects in our constituencies. After-all MP’s do not benefit from that money…it’s for the constituents. It's time Ghanaians stand up against this government [NDC]…whatever form it may take…even if an uprising,” he stressed.

Speaking on Asempa FM, the NPP legislator opined that “…There is too much hardship in this country. The masses out there are suffering…teachers are not been paid well. Where are we going as a nation?”
