NDC goons attack DCE

The timely arrival of armed policemen reportedly prevented a possible nasty scene at the Atwima Nwabiagya District Assembly office in the Ashanti Rgion yesterday morning.

Irate National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the area, who feel let-down by President Mahama’s administration, allegedly stormed the place to vent their spleen on the District Chief Executive (DCE), Nana Asare Bediako.

According to them, numerous promises made to them by the party, including providing them with jobs, had not been fulfilled after the party had been in power for six years.

They complained that they were starving to death.

The angry-looking NDC supporters, who were clad in red attire and singing war songs, decided to rush to the DCE’s office to teach him “bitter lessons” but Mr. Asare Bediako was nowhere to be found when they arrived at 11:45 am.

Sources at the scene said perhaps Bediako, aka Obama, was aware of the intention of the party’s foot soldiers to invade the office and so decided to stay away and rather sent policemen there to deal with any eventuality.

According to reports reaching DAILY GUIDE, the NDC goons trooped to the office in a commando fashion but the policemen did a professional job by calming them down to forestall a chaotic scene.

Despite being calmed down, the angry NDC supporters vowed to attack Mr. Asare Bediako very soon if the party refused to address their concerns.

The protesters, numbering about 25, accused the party leadership in the area notably, Mr. Asare Bediako; NDC Chairman of the area; Daniel Dzamesi and one Emmanuel Bekoe, the GYEEDA Coordinator, of being selfish.

They stated that instead of the party’s leadership addressing their concerns, they were rather amassing wealth without paying any attention to the numerous NDC faithful who are in dire economic situation.

Prior to storming the District Assembly, the NDC hooligans had reportedly stormed party Chairman, Daniel Dzamesi’s house at Abuakwa around 9:00 am.

As fate would have it, Mr. Dzamesi, according to sources, was not at home when the irate youth arrived there. Unconfirmed reports indicated that the NDC supporters destroyed some items in his house.

Amid chanting of war songs, they allegedly took away two motor bikes, which they suspected belonged to the party but Dzamesi was keeping in his house.

The NDC supporters said they were hungry and without work to do so they would not allow the party’s leadership in the area including the DCE, to have any peace of mind until the government had fulfilled its promises to them.
