‘Sack Manya Krobo MCE’

The Manya Krobo Traditional Council in the Eastern Region has requested an immediate dismissal of Isaac Tetteh-Agbo, chief executive of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly over what it described as gross act of misconduct and insubordination.

A resolution addressed to the President, John Dramani Mahama, dated November 25, 2013 and signed by 45 members of the council including the Konor of Manya Krobo and President of the Traditional Council said though Mr Agbo’s tenure expired in May this year, he was still at post and would not show respect to the traditional leaders and other authorities in the municipality including the Member of Parliament for the area, Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Defence.

The chiefs indicated that Mr Agbo continued to misrepresent the president, making the NDC brand unpopular.

The statement said that the MCE had no sense of urgency and proved evasive when most needed to solve pressing issues in the municipality.

He had additionally taken to a populist act of projecting himself, virtually appearing on radio and TV shows every morning in his bid to catch the eyes of officials to be retained and habitually lies about his whereabouts, often using appointments with the Local Government Minister and the Eastern Regional Minister as excuses.

The last episode was on Thursday November 21, 2013, when he was nowhere to be found, though his services were urgently needed.

Citing an instance to buttress the claims, Nene Asada Ahor I, chief of Akuse and PRO of the Traditional Council said, “Hon. Agbo authorized the issuance of a cheque to our legal counsel in the heat of the Akuse boundary dispute in the Supreme Court as agreed in a previous meeting only to retract at the last minute, claiming it was on the order of the Local Government Minister, much to our embarrassment.

“This is just one of the many instances where he covertly acted to sabotage the assembly elections and the reconstitution of the assembly in his determined effort to perpetuate his one-man administration of the Municipal Assembly as has been the case for the past three years.

“He has lost the confidence of the people and we, as traditional leaders of the area, are in no position to entertain him in office any longer. He must accordingly be relieved of his post without further delay to prevent any misunderstanding,” Nene Asada stated.
