Sammy Crabbe distributes cameras for NPP elections

Sammy Crabbe, former Greater Accra Regional Chairman and former National Chairman Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, has started the distribution of ‘ViviCan 5020’ model cameras to all the 275 constituencies of the party.

The cameras are to be used to take pictures of members who constitute the electoral colleges at the various levels of the party’s organisation for the preparation of albums to be used for the impending exercise of electing party executives.

The distribution started Thursday, October 24, 2013, in the Brong-Ahafo region where the party’s Regional Secretariat took custody of 29 of the cameras for the various constituencies.

For the Ashanti region, the distribution was made to the various constituencies during a special regional executive committee meeting, with Members of Parliament in attendance.

This was followed by distribution to the Eastern regional secretariat, with the remaining regions expected to follow soon.

Co-ordinator of the exercise, Seji Saji Amedonu disclosed that all additional cost associated with the preparation of the albums, such as the cost of printing the pictures, would be taken care of by Mr Crabbe.

He explained that the gesture is part of Mr. Crabbe’s efforts to take some of the financial burden from the party as far as preparations for the impending internal elections are concerned.

“As a party in opposition, we are called upon at all times to contribute to the running of our activities in the various constituencies. There are some constituencies which cannot readily raise funds for some of these activities and that is why Mr. Crabbe decided to offer this support,” Mr Saji added.

He called on the rank and file of the party not to allow the internal elections to undermine the party’s unity and cohesion, explaining, “What the suffering masses expect from us is to come out of the elections solid and united than ever before to take the fight to the NDC, and to win the 2016 elections to save the nation from further destruction by the incompetent Mahama-led administration.”

Mr Saji appealed to other leading members of the party to contribute, both in kind and cash, to support the activities of the party, stressing, “As a party in opposition determined to win power under difficult circumstances, all of us have to join efforts to ensure that all constituencies are provided with the needed resources to ensure effective work.”
