Some irate men on Wednesday entered the Metro Office of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), drove the staff out of their offices and locked the doors with their own padlocks.

The irate youth, who were numbering about eight and believed to be aggrieved foot soldiers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said they were protesting against the appointment of Mr Patrick Kuagbenu as the Metro Scheme Manager of the NHIS.

At the time of filing this report, some police and military personnel had been deployed to the scene whiles the perpetrators had vanished from the scene.

Alhaji Haruna Abdulai Friday, Tamale Metro Chief Executive who brief the media on the development, expressed surprise.

He said the locks had been broken by the police who have been detailed to guard the place until peace and security returns.

Alhaji Friday said the security had picked details of those involved in the disturbances and they would be dealt with in accordance to the law when arrested.
